Busy schedule ahead for Birr Theatre and Arts Centre

There"s a busy schedule of events lined up during the first two weeks of April in the Birr Theatre and Arts Centre. First up next weekend is the much-anticipated The Battle of the Bands which takes place on Friday April 3. This is the opportunity to see up and coming local bands show off their talent and is a must see experience. The event is indly Sponsored by The Bandstand Music Shop, Birr. On Saturday April 4, the Allen Little Theatre presents 'On Raftery"s Hill', a play that deals with a family dysfunction of extraordinary sinister proportions. This dark performance isn"t without humour, and has more than its fair share of mythical undertones. As this play contains adult material, it is not suitable for under 18"s. For something of a completely different nature, Offaly Comhaltas are holding a concert featuring traditional music, song and dance on Sunday April 5. This lively colourful show promises a great night of entertainment. And Jack L are asked to note that his concert date has been changed. It will now take place on Sunday April 12 and not April 25 as previously advertised. Having recently sold out a four night run in Vicar Street where he left amazed audiences begging for more, his latest album 'Burn On' has recently gone platinum.
