All invited to celebrate 50 years of the County Arms

An open invite to an evening of 50th celebrations has been extended to anyone connected to Birr's County Arms Hotel since its opening in 1962. Payment for the event thrown by the hotel is in one form only - a copy of a photograph of an event invitees attended at the much-loved hotel in the past. "My wife Gene and I, together with our family, extend an open invitation to all our past guests, colleagues, suppliers, or anyone who has simply attended an event at the hotel to come along and enjoy our special evening, which is simply our small way of thanking you for your custom and for choosing the County Arms for your family event," hotel owner Willie Loughnane said. The commemorative evening will take place on Wednesday, December 12 at 7.30pm. On the evening all photographs supplied will be displayed in the hotel to commemorate fond memories over the years. The County Arms Hotel was opened by Michael and Margaret Loughnane in 1962 and went on to become Offaly's first 4 star hotel. The venue has been transformed over the years with the addition of luxurious modern comforts, however has always managed to retain that traditional feel thanks in the main part to the famous Loughnane family welcome. To RSVP to the event, submit a photo or for further information, please call the County Arms Hotel on 057 9120791 or email peter@countyarmshotel.com.
