Local choir competition launched

The stage is set for the very first midlands charity amateur choir competition.

The competition, which will be in aid of The Carers Association and Power4Good Ireland Ltd, will take place in the Tullamore Court Hotel on Friday, November 21 at 8pm.

Speaking to the Offaly Independent this week, organiser Molly Buckley encouraged choirs to enter early.

“We’re looking for adult choirs interesting in participating, and early application is vital as a limited number of choirs can perform on the night on a ‘first come first served’ basis,” she explained.

Ms Buckley said she’s in no doubt the night will be an entertaining one that’s full of talent. “The standard of choirs in the midlands is very high,” she said. “We’re in for a treat on Friday, November 21.”

The Carers Association is Ireland’s national voluntary organisation for and of family carers in the home. Power4Good delivers services to people with disabilities who live in Zambia.
