Offaly property sought for filming

FilmOffaly are looking for a old cottage or small home in a rural wooded area which would be available to hire for filming in mid December.

The property must be located in Co Offaly, be fully furnished in a rustic style and vacant for a three days from the December 17 to 20.

Ideally the location will be in secluded setting with a pathway up to the house. The interior should ideally be old style décor with an open fire and furnished with traditional parlour items like country kitchen style dressers tables and chairs, ornaments, pictures and bric-a-brac.

The location is required for the film ‘Strangers in the night’, a comedy horror packed full of spookiness and laughs. It’s about two lonely people who find the love that they were searching for. Well, one lonely person and one banshee.

The Fitzgerald family have been cursed for centuries to hear the banshee’s terrible wail whenever a member of their clan is about to die. Granny Fitzgerald is the latest to hear the dreaded scream of the creature, but when the banshee and her grandson Damien catch each other’s eye, something unexpected happens that will change the lives of the Fitzgerald family forever.

The production company behind ‘Strangers in the night’ is Fantastic Films, the team behind the company are writer Gavin Keane, director Conor McMahon and producer Deirdre Levins.
