Grease lightning to strike Tullamore

HUGE crowds are expected to converge on St Mary’s Youth and Community Centre’s for a new production of the iconic musical Grease, which opens next Monday evening next, November 9.

Running until next Friday, November 13, Grease is the 45th consecutive production staged by the centre.

The young people in the cast from come Tullamore, Clara, Daingean, Geashill, Killeigh and Ballinagar.
Clara’s Alex Roe takes on the famous Danny Zuko role, while Sandra Dee is played by Meghan Lynam from Tullamore.

The production is directed by Dearbhla O’Brennan with Alan Recks as musical director. Choreography is again in the capable hands of Mary and Jenny Mangan. The set has been designed by Mark Quinlan and costumes by Jo Jo Lynam.

The centre is very fortunate to have so many dedicated volunteers helping out with the production and would like to take this opportunity to thank them most sincerely. They include Michelle Quinlan, Simon Farrell, Eoin Maher, Stephen Kilroe, Kathleen Whelan, Sarah Dench, while Tim Quinlan from Graphic Index designed the programme.

The doors open at 7.15pm with curtain up at 7.45pm. Tickets are on sale daily in the Bridge Centre Tullamore from 11am to 5pm. There will be concessions for groups of 10 or more for the Monday and Tuesday night performances.

Tickets went on sale on Saturday, October 30 last and already there has been a huge demand for them so you are advised to book early to avoid disappointment for this fantastic local show.
