BOLD Community Awareness Iniative

After the defibrillator training course was successfully completed in defibrillator training course, Damien Mealiffe, Chairman of BOLD, approached Mr Frank Brennan, Principal of Cappagh NS, with the idea of bringing a fully-kitted out ambulance to the school. With full backing from Mr Brennan and his staff, Bruce McCormack and Barry Flynn (HSE) attended the school on Thursday last. Bruce and Barry continue their work in making communities aware of the importance of safety within the community and to make sure all the children are familiar with procedures in emergency situations. They gave a demonstration on how the ambulance works and emphasised how important a resource it is for all communities. They will be back in the BTTC in September to run a refresher defibrillator course and also to do basic first aid courses. Further details will be available from the Teleworking Centre later in the year. Mr Brennan was delighted with the demonstration and thanked both Bruce and Barry for their time and effort in coming to the school.
