St Mary's Youth Centre joins charity Santa appeal

The aim of 'Charity Santa' is to ensure that underprivileged children across Tullamore have an extra special Christmas. To facilitate the appeal, St. Mary's Youth and Community Centre is asking consumers to buy an extra toy or book in the run up to Christmas and come to visit Santa for charity on Saturday, December 12 from 2pm to 6pm and place it in his Christmas sack for all the underprivileged children.

All toys collected will be given to the Lions Club who will distribute them to disadvantaged children throughout Tullamore in time for Christmas. 'Charity Santa' will make Christmas a much happier occasion for many children.

Organisers are hoping "Charity Santa' will be an enormous success. Irish people are known for their extraordinary generosity and organisers want to facilitate that and make it as easy as possible to give a child an extra special Christmas.

Parents and their children will have an opportunity to visit Santa for free in return for giving a gift towards the appeal.

Parents will be invited to take their cameras with them to take as many snaps as they like.

Children will bring a gift instead of receiving one but will have an opportunity to talk and tell Santa what they would like for Christmas.

There will be no charge for visiting Santa and afterwards parents can relax, young people can enjoy face painting, balloon modeling and many more Christmas activities. There will be a number of stalls set up if you would like to organise with Santa to send a letter to your child or arrange for Santa to ring your Child before Christmas. A donation fee will be applied. All proceeds will go towards the Lions Club Christmas Appeal.
