GOAL Haiti programme manager and Edenderry man, John Moore is currently working as part of the GOAL team on the ground in Port au Prince.

John is working under fellow-Offaly man, Darren Hanniffy from Birr, who is GOAL's Country Director in Haiti.

John started with GOAL in 2000 in Angola and over the last ten years he has worked in Sudan, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, as well as in GOAL head office in Dun Laoghaire.

GOAL is on the ground in Haiti delivering aid to the people most affected by the recent earthquake.

The GOAL team, which consists of doctors, nurses, engineers and logisticians, has experience of working in disaster situations across the Developing World, such as the tsunami in South-East Asia in 2004 and the earthquake in Pakistan in 2005.

Those who wish to donate to GOAL and help the organisation's relief and rehabilitation programme in Haiti can contact GOAL on 01-2809779 or visit www.goal.ie, where you can also learn more about GOAL's Haiti earthquake response.
