Recreate a Carrie Bradshaw look

Comments (0) | Print | Email

This summer Carrie fever is once more sweeping the nation as thousands of girls get ready to descend on cinemas nationwide for the sequel to the Sex and the City movie! Premium make-up brand Karaja is the ideal range of cosmetics for glamorous girls to get their hands on ahead of the Sex and the City mania - the products are perfect for high voltage glamour and recreating Carrie's signature sultry look.

Carrie's look is always fresh faced and radiant with a flush of colour to the cheeks - her look is all about a dewy finish that is natural yet glamorous at the same time. To recreate Carrie's radiant skin start with a good base - most Irish girls have a hint of redness in their skin tone yet this can be easily concealed using Karaja's Cream Velvet Concealer No. 5, a rich creamy formula designed to camouflage blemishes and imperfections for a flawless finish. This product is a duo concealer allowing you to mix the two colours for a customised blend to suit different complexions.

The next step to achieving Carrie's immaculate make up is applying your foundation. The Karaja Skin Velvet foundation is a long wearing product which also firms and revitalises the skin for a radiant finish. It comes in nine shades so there's great variety to choose from no matter what your skin tone. Karaja recommends taking your time to find the shade for you - your face is the main canvas for make up so getting the foundation right is vital to achieve natural glowing skin like Carrie and avoid the 'caked' look.

Next step in emulating Carrie is the eyebrows and eyes - expertly groomed eyebrows have always been an important part of Carrie's look as a strong brow frames the face. The Karaja Eye Brow Basic kit is the must-have product for shaping eyebrows and includes powders for the eyebrow along with a miniature tweezers that can be popped in your bag for cocktails with the girls or a shopping trip.

Karaja recommends using their Wonder Box No. 1 to recreate the warm pink tones that Carrie is well known for sporting. The Wonder Box also contains darker charcoal greys and blacks for a soft smoky effect or a darker dramatic eye. To ensure your smoky eye is expertly blended and smudged sexily, apply the shadow so that it is darkest at the lash line and gradually fades towards the top of the lid for the eyes to really 'pop'. Remember to apply the darker shadow under the eye as well to complete the look. For a professional finish draw a smooth line of Black Shine Eyeliner across your eyelids and a few coats of Karaja's Lash Design Mascara. The Lash design gives a fantastic, immediate lengthening effect thanks to the innovative applicator curves that separate the lashes perfectly.

To take your Carrie look from day to night add a dusting of Karaja Gold and Bronze 15 on the apples of the cheeks, taking care to build up the colour gradually for shimmering cheekbones. For luscious lips a la Carrie Karaja's Rouge Cream 90 lipstick followed with a slick of Crystal Gloss 12 lipgloss will ensure you are kissable and ready for your own Mr Big!

So grab your stilettos and your make up bag and get ready to enjoy summer in style, looking every inch the New York starlet with Karaja's exclusive salon collection.

The Karaja range is available in selected salons and day spas throughout Ireland.
