Party in Pink - is a huge fundraising success

The 'Party in Pink’ Hallowe’en Ball in aid of Action Breast Cancer was held in the Tullamore Court Hotel on Friday, October 29 last. The evening was a tremendous success with over 300 people attending the event which was organised by well known local Centra retailer, John Leavy and supported by other Centra stores in the Midland region and the Tullamore Court Hotel. The night kicked off with a Pink Champagne reception with Paul Skelton on piano before guests entered the Halloween themed ballroom where they were entertained by a five piece band Mombo Rocks. This was followed by a buffet to keep the crowd on its feet and a DJ who ensured the dancing continued late into the night. Commenting on the event, John Leavy, Centra, O’Carroll Street, Tullamore said: “We are delighted with the numbers that attended the ball and in particular the support we received from other businesses both locally and throughout the country who responded so generously to requests for spot prizes. We had some amazing prizes to give away on the evening from companies such as Virgin Atlantic, Thomas Cook Ireland and Blue Insurances which helped us to raise a staggering €10,000 for Action Breast Cancer on the evening. “ “Breast Cancer is a very serious issue and one which affects thousands of families each year. Centra through its Pink Mittens and Get the Girls 'Round Campaign is delighted to play a role in encouraging everyone to raise monies to both fight the disease and support those directly affected. However, it is also important that fundraising is fun, so this ball was a great way to raise money, while enjoying a great night out with friends,” John added.
