Offaly events set for the small screen

Now's no time to be camera shy, with goings-on in Offaly set to be aired across the world shortly as part of Irish TV's County Matters series of programmes.

Anthony and Patricia Gaffey of Ballymahon-based Gaffey Productions have already spent time in Offaly filming what will make up the first of the County Matters Offaly programme, which will be broadcast across Europe and the United States as well as online.

Though Anthony was keen to keep the first programme's content a surprise, he did reveal footage has been taken of the inaugural Offaly Delicious Food Network market in Tullamore last weekend, at Tullamore Pet Farm in Ballinagar and at the launch of Tony McCormack's book 'Black Magic' at Tullamore library on Thursday evening.

A start date for County Matters Offaly has yet to be announced, but the half hour show is expected to be broadcast once a week on Sky channel 191 and on Freesat channel 400 from next month.

Anyone interested in getting their event onto the small screen can suggest its includion to Anthony by contacting the Gaffey Productions page on Facebook, emailing info@gaffeyproductions.ie or by calling 087 3620516.
