Tullamore choir sweeps the boards at Navan Choral Festival

Tullamore Academy Chamber Choir left the Navan Choral Festival 2014 yesterday (Sunday) with two first prizes and two second prizes.

The choir took top spots in the sacred music and early music categories, and were only just pipped to the post in the chamber choir and national choir of the year competitions.

The Navan Choral Festival has been on the go for 35 years, and attracts high calibre entries.

Director of the Tullamore Academy Choir Ciaran Brady explained that the festival is a “mecca” for competing choirs looking for silverware.

You can hear the Tullamore Academy Chamber Choir’s winning repertoire at the annual organ festival on July 1 in Tullamore.
