New survey links coffee with character traits

The Irish Coffee Council has released the results of a survey of 1,000 Irish coffee-drinkers, revealing what your choice of coffee drink says about your personality.

According to the survey carried out by psychologist Patrick Kennedy of Amarach Research, coffee drinkers are more extroverted that non-coffee drinkers and can easily become bored with other people around.

The survey results suggest that Americano drinkers are crowd-pleasers, outgoing and sociable, but also tend to be somewhat moody and unpredictable with their emotions.

Cappuccino drinkers meanwhile are full of life, energy and positivity as well as being seen as kind and considerate.

Latte drinkers tend to be more reserved than others, preferring to create close personal relationships in intimate settings rather than socialising in larger groups. They are also seen as helpful and generous with their time.

Coffee drinkers who add a sprinkle of chocolate to their coffee of choice are said to seek out new experiences and love meeting new people.

Espresso drinkers are notably different to other coffee drinkers, according to the survey. Tending to be disorganised and spontaneous, they enjoy their own company and like thinking, and exploring their thoughts and feelings. They have no difficulty speaking with others, the survey suggests, but just prefer their own company.
