Tullamore creche supports Pyjama Day

Make-A-Wish Foundation in Ireland has one simple aim; to grant the wishes of children aged between three and 18 years living with a life-threatening illness. Since its inception in 1992, Make-A-Wish in Ireland has granted wishes for over 720 special children and realised their greatest wish and experienced the hope, strength and joy each wish provides. Last Friday"s national Pyjama Day was a fundraiser for this worthy charity and Grovelands Childcare in Tullamore took part. Regina Bushell, Director of Grovelands Childcare, is a member of the board of NCNA and on an annual basis encourages the children staff and parents to take part in this worthy fundraising event. Children and staff all wore their pyjamas for the day and great fun was had by all, with a variety of fancy dress outfits adding to the excitement. All parents took sponsorship cards and help their children to collect as much as possible. The event lifted the spirits of everyone and the children really enjoyed the novelty of staying in their pyjamas for the day. Even in these recessionary times and despite the gloom and doom, the combined total in the three Grovelands centres by Friday evening was approximately €4,000 and with many cards and money to be returned it is expected that the final total will exceed €5,000 - which will go a long way to realising the dream of some deserving child. Regina travelled to each centre on the day to personally convey her thanks to all the staff, children and parents for their wonderfully positive approach to the Make A Wish Foundation.
