Midlands Regional Youth Service holds pool competition

The Midlands Regional Youth Service"s seventh annual pool competition was held on February 16 in Athlone Leisure World. Competitions were held in three categories - female; male aged 15 and under and male over fifteen.

The pool competition was organised on behalf of Midlands Regional Youth Service by the Athlone based ALF Project.

Before entering this competition young people participated in pool competitions in their individual youth projects and youth clubs in order to select a representative.

Young people from Tullamore, Clara, Athlone, Mullingar, Rochfordbridge, Castlepollard and Ballymore took part in the competitions.

The winner of the female competition were; winner Leanne Slevin from Ballymore and runner-up was Nicole McEntee from Mullingar. Athlone"s Adam Conroy won the male aged 15 and under, while Tullamore"s Ryan Fitzpatrick was runner-up in this category. Athlone"s Robbie Connaughton claimed the top prize in the male aged over 15, while runner-up in this category was Richie Slammon from Clara. The Midlands Regional Youth Service is an affiliated member of Youth Work Ireland. Midlands Regional Youth Service works in partnership with young people and their community to develop, co-ordinate and promote a comprehensive response to youth needs throughout Offaly and Westmeath.
