Tullamore Credit Union's Tidy Tullamore 2009 presentation took place in Hugh Lynch's on Thursday of last week.

There was a full house as representatives from all 70 entrants gathered to hear the final results. Credit Union Chairman Tom Martin presented the prizes.

Apart from the 18 prizes awarded this year, Tullamore Credit Union also sponsored six beautiful flower pots along Patrick Street as part of an initiative to tidy up Tullamore and hope to build on this in the next few years.

Cllr Sinead Dooley took the opportunity to praise the Tidy Towns Committee on their bronze medal in the National Tidy Towns competition. Credit Union Chairman Tom Martin appealed to the audience to spread the credit union message to those less fortunate and extended an invitation to anyone in need this Christmas to talk to their local credit union.

Tullamore Credit Union would like to thank sponsors Tidy Towns, The Town Council and Offaly County Council, as well as Glanbia who kindly donated high viz jackets and gardening gloves to all entrants in the estates and villages section.

The committee extended a very special thanks to our anonymous judges who worked so hard to make fair decisions and gave up a lot of their time to make the three required visits to all 70 locations.

Finally, a big thanks to all the committees and business people who worked so hard during the competition to make it a great success.
