The funeral took place yesterday (Thursday) of the Geashill father of four who died in a tragic farming accident earlier this week.

Seán Mullingan, of Rathfeston, died on Monday after he became caught up in machinery when working on a friend's farm near Daingean.

Mr Mullingan, an agricultural contractor in his 50s, was married to Catherine and had four sons Wayne, Peter, David and Eoin.

The Health and Safety Authority and gardaí have launched separate investigations into the tragedy.

The funeral mass took place yesterday in St Joseph's Church Ballinagar. Hundreds of mourners were in attendance, many of those who had been at the recent funeral of Donal Bolton, the young engineer also from Geashill, who was killed in a freak accident in Cairns earlier in January.
