Profile by Laura Ryder  Updated: Wednesday, 22nd February, 2012 4:30pm

A public information evening is being held by Offaly Dyslexia Group in the Tullamore Court Hotel next Thursday, February 23, at 8pm.

The evening, which is open to all, promises a lively cast of inspirational speakers that will answer of the questions people may have about dyslexia.

It's thought the event will be particularly useful for parents of children with literacy difficulties and adults who think they may have dyslexia.

Speakers on the night include paramedic Gearoid Oman, who has lived with the effects of dyslexia for as long as he can remember.

Fellow speaker Alison McEvoy will speak about literacy workshops that are available for adults with dyslexia locally, while NUI Galway lecturer and speaker on the night Jackie Murphy will provide a fascinating insight into her world of dyslexia on the night.

More information about this event is available by contacting Offaly Dyslexia Group on 086 2309009 or logging on to www.offalydyslexiagroup.org.
