Gardai appeal for info after Eden bank raid

Gardai in Edenderry are appealing for information after two men carrying what appeared to be a firearm made off with a small sum of money from the town's Bank of Ireland branch yesterday (Friday). Edenderry's Sergeant Kevin Quinn told the Offaly Independent two men in motorcycle gear carrying what appeared to be a firearm entered the Bank of Ireland branch at approximately 3.45pm on Friday, August 3. Staff working at the branch were threatened before the small amount of money was made off with. No shots were fired during the incident however and nobody was injured. Sgt Quinn said the two men may have left Edenderry in the Dublin Road direction. He said the two left on the same black motorbike, wearing black motorcycle gear.
