Tullamore Chamber Award finalists revealed
The shortlist of finalists for the Tullamore Chamber Awards has this week been announced, ahead of a gala dinner on December 7 when the winners will be revealed. Finalists have been named in eight categories: industry, retail excellence, business person of the year, cultural/tourism, business initiative, green initiative, community achievement and emerging new business. Finalists in the industry category have been revealed as Glenisk, Emerald Stained Glass, Glenn Wood, Hamco, RR Projects and Duffy and Scott Candle Makers. The finalists in the retail excellence category are Menary's, Woodgrove Interiors, Leavy's Centra and Galvin for Men. The business person of the year category has five finalists: John Lyons, Albert Fitzgerald, George Flynn, John Leavy and Margaret Deverell. Annaharvey Farm, Tullamore Dew Heritage Centre and Lough Boora Parklands made it to the final of the cultural/tourism category, while business initiative finalists have been named as Aura Productions, Breezy Gardening/Design Hub and O'Donoghue's Bakery. Finalists in the green initiative category have been named as KMK Metals, Element Power, Bord na Mona, Molloy Precast and RR Projects. In the community achievement section finalists have been named as St Mary's Youth Centre, St Patrick's Day Parade committee, Tullamore Active Retirement Association, Tullamore Union of Parishes and Offaly County Council. Finally in the emerging new business category finalists have been revealed as Irish Water Jet Profile Ltd, Nine Design, Sites to Go Internet Lab and PB Designs. Chairman of the Tullamore Chamber Awards committee Dominic Doheny said there was great interest in this year's competition, with over 50 nominations received. "The judges have provided a list of finalists in each category and I thank them for taking the time to do this," he said. The Tullamore Chamber Awards will be held on Friday, December 7 in the Tullamore Court Hotel, when winners in each category will be announced.
