Second 'tweet up' planned for Birr this week

If Ireland is looking for an example of phenomenal growth and positively amongst small businesses it doesn't have to look much further than the Twitter group known as #SMEcommunity. The group of small Irish businesses that mentor, advise and support each other was created in June 2011 and has since grown to 3,038 followers and 16 offline meetings around the country. Last year the group held its first 'tweet-up' in Birr, and this year's event has been planned for the same town on Friday next, January 25. Speaking about the event, organiser Debi Harper said that within an hour of it going online there were already registrations from 17 different counties. It's hoped now that the free meet-up in the County Arms Hotel in Birr will have representation from every county in Ireland. The event will kick off at 11am with informal networking. The County Arms is offering special rates to those wishing to stay over. Those wishing to take part in the event can find out more and book a place at http://smecommunitytweetup2013-estw.eventbrite.com/.
