Get back in the saddle in Tullamore and Birr

Lunchtime cycles are being offered in both Tullamore and Birr next Wednesday, June 19 as part of Bike Week 2013.

All over the country events are taking place from June 15-23 as part of the week that gives people an opportunity to get back in the saddle for commuting and recreation.

In addition to Offaly’s lunchtime cycles, the Wolftrap Cycling Club in Birr will also host a number of events.

Cyclists interested in taking part in the Birr lunchtime cycle should meet at the Wilmer Road car park beside the Birr Civic Offices at 12.45pm. The cycle will take no more than 30 minutes and will follow a town centre route.

A second longer cycle will be led out by Wolftrap Cycling Club in the direction of Crinkle.

Meanwhile in Tullamore cyclists taking part in the lunchtime cycle should meet at Lloyd Town Park at 12.45pm for a cycle that will take no longer than 30 minutes and will like Birr follow a town centre route.

Helmets, hi-viz jackets and a road worthy bicycle are requirements for both cycles, and children taking part must be supervised by parents.
