Clubs urged to join new register for future sports capital programmes

Offaly clubs have this week been urged to register with a new online system in order to get future notifications from the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport of sports capital funding.

The new system, known as OSCAR (Online Sports Capital Register), will be explained to local clubs at a workshop hosted by Offaly Sports Partnership next Tuesday, October 22, at 7.30pm in O’Connor Park.

Speaking this week Offaly Sports Partnership co-ordinator Eamonn Henry said there is currently no call for a sports capital programme, but that it’s nonetheless essential that clubs and other organisations who might apply for future programmes register with OSCAR to get the necessary notifications.

Next Tuesday’s workshop will look at the new online system, and there will also be a presentation regarding the most common mistakes made by applicants to the sports capital programme.

More information is available in advance of the meeting by contacting Eamonn Henry on 086 7948054 or ehenry@offalycoco.ie.
