The first wind turbine arrives at Mountlucas

Bord na Móna’s wind energy plans took a step closer to reality today (Wednesday) with the arrival of the first turbines for its Mountlucas wind farm.

The turbines, which are manufactured by Siemens, travelled through the night to avoid causing traffic hold ups on the route from Dublin Port and the site.

The first of the turbines are set to be erected on the former industrial bog site in January.
