Gallen Community School has triumphed for a second time in All-Ireland Scór competition.

Under the superb direction of Ms Deborah  Reynolds, the school claimed the All- Ireland Scór Ballad Group title for the second time at the weekend.  The latest success follows on from their first triumph back in 2012.

The group, made up of students Zoe Rooney, Avril  Spain, Valene Greer, Sarah  Kenny and Reveina Devery, did the school  proud with their excellent renditions of ‘The  Ballad of  Michael  Collins’ and  ‘Eoghainin O’ Ragadain’ which saw them gain national  honours once again in the TF Theatre in Castlebar.

The All-Ireland winning team received a rapturous reception from members of Ferbane/Belmont GAA club and the local community on their return.
