Edenderry Fianna Fail councillor taken ill overnight

Fianna Fail councillor Noel Bourke from Edenderry is currently in intensive care at the Midland Regional Hospital in Tullamore, the Offaly Independent has learned.

It's understood Cllr Bourke took ill in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday) at his home in Killane, Edenderry.

Cllr Bourke is currently a member of Offaly County Council, and is also a candidate in the upcoming local election.

Former Fianna Fail councillor with Edenderry Town Council and Independent candidate in the upcoming elections Noel Cribbin told the Offaly Independent Cllr Bourke had been out canvassing as late as yesterday evening.

Cllr Bourke's Fianna Fail colleague and Cathaoirleach of Edenderry Town Council Finian O'Neill joined with Cllr Cribbin in wishing the ill councillor well.
