Public help sought in relation to two Birr thefts

Gardai in Birr are asking members of the public for help solving two crimes that took place locally in recent days.

A house on Military Road in Birr was broken into while its occupants were on holidays sometime between July 21 last and last Tuesday, July 1. A grey Toyota Avensis car - registration 11D28251 - was taken during the incident.

Meanwhile timber and other building materials including lead and fascia and soffit board worth between €1,300 and €1,400 were taken from a construction site at Lisheen, Birr last Monday night.

Gardai are asking anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in either area during the time periods in question, or who may have information on the stolen items, to contact them at 057 9169710.
