Man due in court over fatal crash

A man is due in court next month in connection with a crash which claimed the life of a young Offaly boy in Co Laois last April.

The 39-year-old man was arrested by gardai last week. He is due to appear before a sitting of Portlaoise District Court in mid November.

Ciarán Treacy(4) died when the car he was travelling in collided with another vehicle at Ballymorris on the outskirts of Portarlington in Co Laois on April 17.

The young boy's mother Gillian was seriously injured in the collision and his brother Sean(7) was hospitalised with minor injuries.
