Suspected case of the vomiting bug at tullamore hospital

Visitor restrictions have been introduced at the Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore this lunchtime due to a suspected case of norovirus   - commonly known as the vomiting bug.

This measures were taken in the interest of patient care and in order to curb the spread of the vomiting bug within the hospital. The HSE has said there is just one suspected case in the hospital.

Visitors are requested to cooperate with the staff at the hospital who are ensuring the restrictions are adhered to. Visitors are also advised that they must use the alcohol hand gels supplied as they enter and leave the hospital.

Signs are in place alerting visitors to the outbreak.
