Man cut from bin lorry near birr
A man was taken to hospital after a bin lorry crashed on the outskirts of Birr this morning.
Gardai in Birr said the man sustained minor injuries when the lorry crashed at Drumoyle outside Birr shortly before 12 noon.
It’s understood the lorry overturned when it left the road. Fire crews are believed to have spent around 30 minutes freeing the man from the lorry's cab.
The man, who is understood to be in his 50s, was taken to hospital in Tullamore. Another man, the lorry's only other occupant, escaped injury in the single vehicle crash.
