Gardai examining clothes found in edenderry

Gardai investigating the murder of Silvestras Stoskus are examining clothes found at a laneway in Edenderry yesterday.

The clothes, which were discovered at a laneway near the Grand Canal in the town, were removed and handed over to Gardai in Leixlip.

“The area was examined and the clothes were taken away for forensic analysis,” a Garda said. However, it’s understood Gardai have not made a link between the clothes and the murder victim at this stage.

Mr Stoskus’s remains were discovered in a field at Cornamucklagh, Broadford, Co Kildare on Wednesday afternoon. The 20-year-old had been missing from his home at Bun Daire in Kinnegad since March 8.

Gardaí in Leixlip began a murder investigation following a post mortem which was carried out on his body on Thursday. Gardai are not releasing the post mortem results for operational reasons but it’s believed Mr Stoskus suffered a violent death.
