15 jobs lost in tullamore

Reliance GeneMedix Limited has closed its Tullamore facility with the loss of 15 jobs.

The company issued a statement today announcing that its 15 remaining Tullamore based employees are to be made redundant.

The company stated: “Reliance GeneMedix Limited, owned by Reliance Life Sciences India, is engaged in the development and production of a biopharmaceutical product, Erythropoietin, and has operated in Tullamore for the past 14 years.”

“A US based partner of the company, recently backed out of the deal to develop the lead product, Erythropoietin, for the EU and US markets. As a result the company has decided to close its Tullamore operation after a 15-day consultation process with employees. The fifteen remaining employees are being made redundant.”
