Protest outside tullamore courthouse

The Irish Democratic Party(IDP) is protesting outside Tullamore courthouse this morning where they say 70 repossession cases are listed.

According to IDP Chairman Ken Smollen, there are 70 cases in Tullamore and a total of 237 listed nationwide today.  He believes the situation will lead to tragedies.

While Mr Smollen doesn't think many of those facing repossession will not show up at the court, he said the IDP wanted to be there to show their support for families facing home repossession.

The IDP has protested outside courts in Tullamore and at other locations around the country in recent months. 'We are certainly not going away. We will keep this battle up until this Government does something about this,' Mr Smollen insisted.
