Rhode assault suspect released

The 17 year old male arrested yesterday in connection with a house fire and assault at Cloncur, Rhode on September 7 was released without charge this morning, Tuesday November 10.

A file is now being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions. A 27 year old man also arrested yesterday remains in custody.

The victim of the assault, Ciaran Murphy, sustained extensive burn injuries and a number of stab wounds for which he received hospital treatment.
