Warning of snow and ice

Met Éireann has issued a snow and ice warning for Leinster.

The status yellow Snow-ice Warning for Leinster, Cavan, Monaghan and Donegal comes into effect at midnight tonight.

The forecaster is predicting a cold night with some frost and icy patches. It expects 'some sleet and snow showers at times too, especially on high ground, but there is also a risk at lower levels, with possibly between one and three cm locally.'

Met Éireann said parts of Ulster and Leinster are most at risk later tonight. The warning will remain in place until 10am on Friday morning.
