PNA postpones industrial action in Offaly

The Psychiatric Nurses Association(PNA) has postponed planned industrial action in Laois and Offaly for a week following a meeting with the HSE.

PNA members in Laois Offaly mental health services were due to begin a work to rule tomorrow(Thursday) over staffing levels.

The suspension of the action follows a meeting with the HSE this morning at which commitments- with a clear timetable for a series of actions- were given by HSE to address the understaffing in the Laois/ Offaly. The PNA says 40 of 155 WTE (Whole Time Equivalent) posts are vacant in Laois and Offaly.

A further meeting will take place on Thursday, June 2 to review the undertakings given by HSE on staffing.
