Offaly butcher celebrates another national award

AN Edenderry butcher is celebrating after it won a national title at the first-ever All Ireland Steak Invitational Competition which took place in Monaghan at the weekend.
Bergin Family Butchers, which also has shops in Navan and Derrinturn and Naas, had great cause for celebration after securing the All Ireland Champion and Gold Award for Premium Rib Eye Steak. This is the fourth national accolade secured by local brothers Brendan, Dermot and Robert this year, having already won Best in Ireland 2016  for their steak burger, spiced beef and BBQ Ribs.  The All Ireland Steak Invitational celebrates the best steaks in Ireland sold by artisan butchers across Ireland and received 180 entries across 12 categories ranging from the much loved Dry Aged T-Bone to the Hanger Steak.
