Major housing plan lodged

Planning permission has been sought for a new 82-unit housing development in Tullamore.

If Lystonvale Ltd's application is given the green light by Offaly County Council, the new development at Arden will comprise 66 houses (6 two-bed terraced, 20 threebed terraced, 28 three-bed semi-detached, two three-bed detached and 10 four-bed semi-detached) and 8 threebed duplexes over 8 two-bed ground floor apartments.

The application also includes details for the development of 167 car parking spaces and access onto Collins' Lane via the existing link road. Earlier this year, Lystonvale Ltd successfully applied to extend planning permission granted in 2011 for a 34-unit housing development.

The decision due date for this new applicaton is January 14. If granted planning permission, it will be one of the largest housing developments in Offaly in over a decade.
