Tony Egan has been missing since September.

Mother makes emotional appeal for information on missing son

The mother of a man who went missing from his Portarlington home three months ago has launched a pre-Christmas appeal for information on his whereabouts.

Tony Egan (32) was last seen at his home at Newmill Court at around 9pm on Monday September 19. He left his personal belongings including his wallet and phone in his apartment.

Speaking on Crimecall this week, Mr Egan's mother Bridget made an emotional appeal for information on her son. She revealed that she had spoken to her son on the phone shortly before he went missing.

“He’d ring me every day or I’d ring him. He used to make me laugh all the time. I just want Tony back. I’m very worried.'

“He was very kind and loving when he was small. He loved playing with his bikes like all other little kids used to do. The two of us were very close, very, very close.

“He used to say ‘when you’re an old lady really old, I’ll look after you mammy’. He used to make me laugh all the time.”

For the past three months, Bridget has been in touch with homeless charities and put up posters around the Portarlington area in the hope of securing information on Tony.

The gardai have also conducted an investigation and been in touch with their counterparts in the UK, but so far his whereabouts remain a mystery, much to his mother's distress.

“We hope something may trigger something. I just want Tony back. I am very worried. Everybody loves him. I miss him terribly.

“I’m pleading for anyone who knows anything to pick up the phone. I’m broken hearted.”

Tony is described as weighing approximately 11 stone, with brown hair and is 5'11' tall. When last seen he was wearing a black hoodie, black tracksuit bottoms and white runners.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Portarlington Garda Station (057) 8623112 or any Garda Station.
