Over 50 North Offaly groups benefit from Credit Union fund

The 2017 Croí Laighean Community Fund (Edenderry) presentation event took place on Wednesday May 24 in Larkin’s Bistro, Edenderry.

Following on from the success of the Community Fund in 2016, a larger Community Fund of €40,000 was introduced, with €20,000 allocated in the Edenderry Common Bond area and €20,000 in the Coill Dubh & District Common Bond.

Over 100 Community Fund applications were received in the Edenderry Common Bond area and from those applications, 52 clubs and organisations were awarded funding.

Martin Moloney, Vice-Chairman, Croí Laighean Credit Union, welcomed all the local clubs and organisations to the event.

Martin commented ‘Croí Laighean Credit Union has always supported and invested in the community and I am delighted that the Community Fund which was only started in 2016, has received so many applications this year. I would like to congratulate everyone here tonight for their continued work in the community, and I hope our funding helps with your efforts’.

The Croí Laighean Credit Union Community Fund for Coill Dubh & District will take place next Tuesday, May 30, in the Westgrove Hotel, Clane.
