Speed checks for National Slow Down Day

A number of speed checks, including one in Ballycumber, will be taking place today as part of National Slow Down Day.
The day runs form 7am today until 7am tomorrow and will see Gardai conduct a national speed enforcement operation in a bid to get drivers to slow down.
A number of locations have been selected for speed checks as they have a history of speed-relation road collisions.
Gardai have revealed a number of locations where speed checks will be carried out but say these are just some of the locations where the speed enforcement operation will take place.
Chief Superintendent Finbarr Murphy, Roads Policing Bureau said: "We appeal to drivers to work with us and play their part in reducing injury and tragedy on the road, by supporting our National Slow Down day. Please stick strictly to the posted speed limit, but if the road, traffic or especially weather conditions dictate...reduce your speed even further.”

The list of speed enforcement zones is available on the Garda website.
