Tullamore teen sheds over 13 stone

A Tullamore teenager has this week shared his remarkable weight loss story after losing over 13 stone in a year.
Sixteen-year-old Daniel Killeavy spoke about his weight loss journey on TV3's Ireland AM on Wednesday.
At his heaviest Daniel tipped the scales at 28 stone 8lb and told viewers he was embarrassed by his weight.
“Every day was a struggle, especially school, going up stairs or even just basic activities,” he said, admitting that he was mocked in school because of his weight.
It got to the stage where Daniel pretty much cut himself off and avoided social situations because of his weight, although he says he tried his best at sport because he was sports mad.
Daniel said his overall happiness and wellbeing was very low.
“I wouldn't talk to anyone,” he admitted.
Daniel, who lost the weight with the help of Dr Eva Orsmond's clinic, said: “I tried all the diets, all the dieticians. This was my last chance to do something properly and I went to the clinic to Dr Eva and I did it.”
He said his parents had been aware of his weight since he was about six or seven and had tried to help him over the years, but said he had always felt hungry all the time.
Despite his mother having a healthy eating regime in the house, Daniel admitted he ate everything in the presses as he was hungry from morning until night.
However, all that changed once Daniel began his weight loss journey with Dr Eva and said that while he lost the weight he was on a low calorie diet, but he still felt full and that's why it worked for him.
Six months in once he lost the weight he was able to increase his calorie intake while maintaining his weight.
“I was full, that's what worked in this diet, and I could see the results,” he said.
Weighing 15 stone 5lbs, Daniel said his target weight is 15 stone and said he plans to follow the plan Dr Eva gave him so that he can keep the weight off.
Daniel also thanked Guy Clothing in Tullamore, who he said had been very good to him over the years.
