Scoil Mhuire student, Tullamore’s Aoife Malewska scooped the coveted Leinster Region prize for her creative coin design.

To mark the Central Bank of Ireland’s 75th anniversary, it called upon the students of Ireland to design a coin inspired by events or people of the past 75 years.

The response to the competition was phenomenal with over 500 students taking part, however Scoil Mhuire, Tullamore’s very own Aoife Malewska scooped the coveted Leinster Region prize in her 3rd to 6th class category with her very creative coin.

Aoife excitedly travelled to Dublin with her family and teacher Ms Norah Daly, where she was presented with her award at the Central Bank. It was a day that she will never forget and an opportunity that will encourage her to continue in her artistic endeavours
