The Annual table quiz for the Science Society Athlone RTC (student society) took place on Wednesday 20th March in the County John McCormack Hall. A total of eighteen tables from local secondary schools participated. the winners were Athlone Community College with a score of seventy points out of a possible hundred. the team members were Niall Mulligan, Alan Glynn, Pauric Lennon and Shane Colleran. The teacher in charge Ms Catherine Hickey. Runners up were Our Lady's Bower, Athlone with fifty eight points out of a total one hundred. The team members were Ann-marie Ross, Sinead Noonan, Sarah O'Connell and Caitriona Ryan. the teacher in charge was Mr Digby. Third were St Aloysious, Atlone on fifty seven points. The team members were Jason Horan, Eoin Murphy, Robert Shaw and David Henry and the teacher in charge was Ms Carmel Wims. The winners were presented a clock by Arran Chemicles, Monksland Industrial Estate by Mr Martin Ryan, Head of school.
