Graham Knuttell at the launch of the Tipperary Crystal Tipperary Crystal Graham Knuttel ceramics range.
Renowned artist Graham Knuttel will be doing a signing of his fantastic new Cafe Collection tomorrow (Saturday) from 6pm to 8pm in Kit Your Kitchen at the Bridge Centre in Tullamore.
Graham has collaborated with Tipperary Crystal to create a new and exciting fine porcelain range including cappuccino and espresso cups, small medium and large serving plates and limited edition plates in four of Graham's famous artworks.
Mr Declan Fearon, managing director of Tipperary Crystal said: "We are absolutely thrilled to introduce our collaboration with an artist of the calibre of Graham Knuttel and we are confident that there will be great demand for the vibrant designs in this unique collection."
There are four Knuttel artworks featured in the 'The Café Collection': Girl's Best Friend, Fish, Red Sky at Night and The Hurricane Hotel. A limited edition plate featuring the 'Siren' artwork is in production for the launch. Prices for presentation boxes will range from €45 to €125.
Dublin-born Graham Knuttel is a figurative artist with an international reputation who is known for his paintings and for his large wooden mechanical animated sculptures. His figures appear in an urban landscape of which he is a part. Graham Knuttel's pictures are represented in a number of important collections in Europe and America as well as many public collections in Ireland, including the Arts Council, Bank of Ireland; University College Dublin, Allied Irish Banks and the Hugh Lane Gallery. Individual collectors include Sylvester Stallone, Eddie Jordan, Christy Moore, Colin Farrell, Michael Stipe, Bill Gates and Joanna Lumley, to name but a few.
His figures appear in an urban landscape of which he is a part. He is known to be a prolific worker, spending up to 15 hours in his studio every day, working from first light until darkness and beyond.
He said: "Being asked to design this collection of fine porcelain for Tipperary Crystal has been a challenge but also great fun. I work in many different mediums and ceramic design was a subject I studied 30 years ago so it was great to return to my youth! I hope you find this collection whimsical, optimistic, colourful and carefree."
Kit Your Kitchen is pleased to announce that they will have a select number of these limited edition plates from 2pm this Saturday.
Graham's 'Siren' Limited Edition Plate will be also be available to purchase on the day. This plate is only available to purchase when Graham is present making it all that more special.
