Aladdin the big draw at Birr Theatre this weekend

The big draw at Birr Theatre and Arts Centre this weekend is the Midland Drama School production "Aladdin". However looking towards the rest of January and into February there are events to suit all ages and tastes.

"Aladdin" runs in the theatre on Friday and Saturday, with amazing costumes, colourful scenes, modern songs and stunning choreography. The show is billed as an unmissable panto experience for all the family, and is bound to be the perfect weekend treat.

Next Tuesday Birr Film Club presents "Nostalgia for the Light", a film with Chile as its focus. On Tuesday, February 5 is a must for music lovers - Travels with my Cello: An Evening with Julian Lloyd Webber. The event marks a unique opportunity to spend time in the company of one of the world's most renowned musicians, who will perform classics from Bach, Faure, Saint-Saens and Debussy as well as work by his brother Andrew.

On Thursday, February 7 it's anticipated that everyone in Birr Theatre will be falling off their seats. On that night Offaly comedian Neil Delamere is in town with his latest show DelaMere Mortal. The show sees the comedian realise that he's been living in Dublin for as long as he's lived in Offaly, and he looks at what's he learned in the 16 years since he's left home.

February 9 sees an evening of nostalgia with Johnny McEvoy. Highly acclaimed for his excellent concert shows, this event will feature all of Johnny's hit songs over two hours.

More information on all events are avaialble at Bookings can be made by calling 057 9122911.
