Engage with Architecture exhibition to open in Birr

An exhibition featuring over 20 artists is to open at Birr Theatre and Arts Centre next week as part of Offaly County Council's "Engage with Architecture" programme. Curated by Oonagh Young, "Artists on Architecture" will feature both local and national artists while the work exhibited will highlight the interaction between art and architecture and depict the artist's interpretation of the built world.

The exhibition will be officially opened on Wednesday, February 20 at 7pm and will run until Sunday, March 31. Ms Young has been running her own gallery since March 2008. Originally trained in visual communications, she also holds an MA in Anglo Irish literature and Drama from UCD as well as an MA in Visual Arts practice as a curator from IADT.

It's hoped the Birr exhibition will broaden public engagement and discussion with the Offaly "Engage with Architecture" programme.
