Paul Carberry was at his best on the Noel meade-trained Across The Bay in the beginners' chase at Naas today.

Carberry got the better of the favourite Kimberlite King by over three lengths and the castletown trainer was delighted with the victory.

"It was probably as good an execution of a ride as you'd ever see on ground that was very bad," commented the trainer.

Across The Bay won a maiden hurdle at Fairyhouse last year and a 2008 bumper at Navan and will now be aimed at a winners' race next following this debut victory over fences.
