Noel Meade enjoyed a winner at Dundalk last night.

Cheltenham might be just around the corner, but Castletown trainer Noel Meade opened his account on the flat at Dundalk last night on the opening night of the flat season.

Dark Prospect scored on his first start for Meade in a 10-furlong handicap under an excellent ride by Timmy Carroll who hit the front two furlongs from home.

Running for the trainer, Dark Prospect was purchased to go hurdling. "The owner didn't materialise and I thought I would leave him to next season," stated Meade.
