Patience rewarded

Noel Meade's patience with Nicanor was rewarded at Navan yesterday when the nine-year-old got off the mark over fences.

Nicanor won the Trim Beginners Chase for Davy Condon who has struck up a good relationship with the Castletown trainer.

Condon sent his mount to the front at the second last and althoug he tired slightly on the run-in, still had plenty in hand to win.

Meade followed up in the next race to complete a quick double when Luke McNiff partnered Jetson to run out a convincing winner of the bumper.

McNiff sent the 9/10 favourite into the lead a furlong out.

Cheltenham is not on the radar for this one.
